The Santo Domingo Line 1 Cable Car is an urban aerial cable transport system that allows a large number of people to move daily in the urban center of the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Thanks to its interconnection with the Santo Domingo Metro, this system becomes a mobility solution that allows travelers to reach their destinations quickly, comfortably and safely, reducing travel times through the city.

Desde 2019, INTECKNO ha llevado a cabo la Asistencia Técnica, acompañamiento y supervisión a la Operación y Mantenimiento del teleférico, a través de contratos plurianuales que han permitido la estructuración, capacitación y mejoramiento del sistema de transporte por cable de la ciudad de Santo Domingo.

This project included continuous on-site technical assistance from the Cable Transport Division and the Cable Car Operation Division of the Oficina para el Reordenamiento del Transporte (OPRET), where work has focused on the following approaches:

1. Management and Technical Maintenance

At the maintenance level, this project has focused on optimizing maintenance management processes and rigorously supervising external contracts:

• Division Structure: Support in structuring the division and its maintenance management.
• Accompaniment and Technical Support: Carrying out support activities in technical maintenance activities.
• Oversight (Major Maintenance Supervision): Execution of oversight or supervision services for the major maintenance contract of the Santo Domingo Cable Car, Line 1.
• Continuous Monitoring: Monitoring of the system's preventive maintenance plan.
• Contract Control: Drafting terms of reference for contracting maintenance services.
• Administrative Control: Control of monthly contract billing.
• Oversight (Routine Supervision): Oversight and supervision of major system maintenance activities and routine maintenance activities.

2. Training and Operations

Various training courses have been implemented to ensure that operational staff are equipped with the necessary technical and operational knowledge for the efficient management of the system:

• Technical Staff Training: Training of maintenance technical staff.
• Operation Management: Support in structuring the division for the management of the system's operation.
• Specialized Operational training: Implementation of technical and operational training for personnel in different positions:
  • Supervisor (SUP).
  • Cable Car Operator
  • Driving Assistant
  • Customer Service
